men3.jpgSo Week 8 is here and I’m finally getting my bathrooms renovated!  This has been as disruptive for my sports betting mojo as the time I was involved in a N.Y./L.A relationship with an asshole actor type a few years back.  I promise you will be getting more posts and better analysis than this next week.  So here we go with the picks for Week 8!

All lines are from Bet Online, as of 4 p.m. EST on Saturday.

MY MONEY PICKS

1. Raiders +7 @ Titans

I don’t normally like to ever bet against Vince Young but he’s coming off a quad injury and the Raiders have always played the Titans tough (last 5 games: 4-1 ATS).  The Raiders have the ability to run the ball against and it’s a lot of points for the Titans to cover, especially being a ball control team like they are.  You gotta think Culpepper wants to show Vince that he was one of the first dual threat QB’s in the league at this big size.

TAKE THE RAIDERS +7

2. Steelers -3.5 @ Bengals

The Steelers have to be pissed about the last second loss in Broncoville last Sunday Night. The Bengals can’t stop the ground game of the Steelers, especially if Mike Tomlin gets back to it and stops having Big Ben throw it all over the place like he did in Denver. Although this is a rivalry game, the Steelers have owned the Bengals (0-6 ATS) when playing in Cincinnati.

TAKE THE STEELERS -3. Buy down a 1/2 point from the -3.5

3. Saints -2 @ 49ers

The Saints are on the comeback trail after 2 wins and the 49ers are reeling with Trent Dilfer as their QB.  Although the 49ers are getting Alex Smith back this week, he’s still hurting and will be very rusty in the early going. Just enough time for the Saints to turn Bush loose and get a touchdown from Colsten. I think the Saints are still sniffing around the playoff hunt with a win.

TAKE THE SAINTS -2!

Now for the rest of Week 8

1. Browns -3 @ Rams

The Rams are still hurting in more ways than one. The Browns have a little something going on there with Derek Anderson.

TAKE THE BROWNS -3

2. Lions +5 @ Bears

This looks like a revenge game for the Bears, who are still in the hunt for the North Crown given the nuttiness of the NFL season. I like the Bears to win this game SU, but not real sure about them covering the spread. I would lay off this game, but if I had to I would…

TAKE THE BEARS -5

3. Colts -6.5 @ Panthers

I like the Panthers chances in this one, especially because it’s a classic trap game for the Colts with the Pats coming to town next week and having played their divisional rival on Monday Night. Back to back road games are tough getting up for when you have “The Game of the Century” waiting for you at home next week!

TAKE THE PANTHERS +7. Buy the 1/2 point up from +6.5

4. Giants -9.5 @ Dolphins

Well this isn’t Borg vs. McEnroe in London, but hey the English need to see a little real football for a change. Too bad this is such a wreck of a match-up! The Giants are flying high and the Dolphins only wish they could rub a little Dan Marino oil on Cleo Lemon’s shoulder.

TAKE THE GIANTS -9.5

5. Eagles -1 @ Vikings

If the Vikes would only run Adrian Petersen more than 18-20 times in a game they might win more. Childress needs to go soon! The Vikes can stop the run and McNabb can’t scramble like he used to.

TAKE THE VIKINGS +1

6. Bills +3 @ Jets

In a battle for 2nd place in the AFC East, these two juggernauts go head to head in the Big Apple. I like Trent Edwards at QB for the Bills. Bill Walsh knew a thing or two about QB’s. The Jets need to stick in Clemens before Pennington hurts himself yet again!

TAKE THE BILLS +3

7. Texans +9 @ Chargers

The Chargers have been dealing with more pressing matters than football this past week as all of Southern California was on fire! Norv Turner even had to evacuate, which means that maybe he left those team killing poison pills he takes regularly in his medicine cabinet. If this is true, and they are only rumors at this point, then the Chargers could be making a run for the AFC Final Four!

TAKE THE CHARGERS -9

8. Jags +3.5 @ Bucs

The Jags really were hurt by losing David Garrard on Monday Night against the Colts. You would have thought that Big Bruiser Jack would have thought of some other insurance policy other than Quinn Gray. The Bucs are looking for a rebound from the debacle in Detroit. Something tells me to…

TAKE THE JAGS +3.5

9. Redskins +16 @ Patriots

This is a game that I really feel could get a little too close for comfort for the Pats. The Skins have some great hitters in their secondary, something the Pats have not had to deal with this season. Gibbs has to be champin at the bit to get a piece of Belichek. I think the Pats will be in for a close one or of course they could…

TAKE THE PATS -16. There is a little extra somethin’ in Brady’s eyes this year. Moss will blow by Springs and Smoot!

10. Packers +3 @ Broncos

This game could be a lot of fun! I look for Favre and company to come off their bye week ready to stick it some more to the critics that say they are doomed for eventual failure. The Broncos had a little upset last week, but that doesn’t dismiss the fact that the Steelers moved the ball all over the field against them. In this game I would say if you like the Broncos get them now at -3 or buy down to -2.5. If you like the Packers wait until Monday and hopefully get them at +3.5. I think this game will come down to a field goal just like most every other Bronco game this year. I’m going with…

TAKE THE PACKERS +3.5. Buy the 1/2 point up from +3 if you need to!

So there you have it sports betting fans! I can’t wait to get back into my normal schedule this coming week and have some time to write about all that has happened in the first half of the 2007 Season!

jason19.jpgGet some drinks in you on Sunday cause you never know when you’ll have some knife wielding idiot coming at one of your friends like I had happen to Lemar, my favorite bartender, last night!  Luckily he’s going to be okay despite 23 stitches, but the point is to enjoy life, friends, and of course sports betting! We only get one shot here on earth unless you’re Shirley MacClain!

How’s it going sports betting fans? Do you like the match-ups this weekend? Maybe it’s my contractor problem and that my house is a dusty mess with no working shower but I’m having a hard time getting in the mood for this Sunday.

There are a lot of sloppy games coming up with mediocre play from many teams. To be sure, we are going to find out who can start preparing for next year after this weekend. There are a lot of games with more than a 7 point spread, but the favorites aren’t exactly endearing me with middle of the road defenses to cover those points.

I’ve only got a few money picks this week and I’m still feeling out the whole Colts vs .Jags contest on Monday Night. I will say if you like the Colts, I would grab them now as opposed to waiting until Sunday or Monday. If you like the Jags I would hold out until Monday as I believe they will get more points as we see Sunday come to a close.

All lines are as of 3:30pm pst on BetOnline.

MONEY PICKS

Steelers -3.5 @ Broncos

The Steelers are coming off a bye week and they get back Heinz Ward, whom Big Ben loves down inside the 20 yard line. The Broncos can’t stop anybody much less Willie Parker.

Take the Steelers -3. Buy the 1/2 point down from -3.5

Colts -3 @ Jags

Big Monday Night showdown in Jacksonville! I like the ability of the Colts to score more than I do the ability of the Jags to defend in this AFC South showdown! Although this game will be close, I see the extra week to prepare coming through for Peyton and the Boys!

Take the Colts -2.5. I would buy down a 1/2 point to 2.5 so as not to push this close game!

Titans -1.5 @ Texans

It looks like Vince Young will play and as you know, I love Vince Young and his winning ways against the spread.

Take the Titans -1.5

THE REST OF THE MESS

1. Cards +8.5 @ Skins

Cards are a little shaky at QB. The Skins are off a tough loss at Green Bay. The Skins just have too much on D and Jason Campbell will light up the Cards secondary.

Take the Skins -8.5

2. Falcons +8 @ Saints

Was last week an abberation for the Saints or did they finally right their ship? Too bad we won’t find out against the Falcons.

Take the Saints -8

3. Ravens -3 @ Bills

Trent Edwards may have the look of the Bills’ QB of the future but the Ravens defense of the present is going to smother him and his receivers.

Take the Ravens -3

4. Patriots -16 @ Dolphins

The Pats historically have hard times in South Beach. The Fins don’t have a chance but I’d take them to cover.

Take the Dolphins +16

5. 49ers +9 @ Giants

This match up is going to tear Madison apart as it pits her two favorite teams. It’ll either be an upset or a blow out. I’m going with blow out.

Take the Giants -9

6. Bucs +2 @ Lions

The God Squad comes back from their bye week. Look for them to use their Jesus juice to drown the Bucs (that sounds so gross).

Take the Lions -2

7. Chiefs +2 @ Raiders

I can’t believe I am saying this but the Chiefs, tied for the division lead, visit the Black Hole for a huge AFC West showdown. Just because this match up is in Oakland, I say go with the Raiders.

Take the Raiders -2

8. Jets +6.5 @ Bengals

I have nothing clever to say about this game.

Take the Bengals -6.5

9. Vikings +9.5 @ Cowboys

I like the Vikings defense but if I were to put money on this game, I’d buy the .5 to go to 10 just for some insurance.

Take the Vikings but buy the .5 to go to +10

10. Bears +5.5 @ Eagles

It’s hard to say which team is going to show up on either side and it is a pretty big game for both teams. I may be the only one but I kind of like the Griese-led Bears offense.

Take the Bears but buy the .5 to go to 6.

11. Rams +8 @ Seahawks

The Rams and the Dolphins are waging a pretty intense war for the first pick of the draft in April and while I picked the Fins to cover against the Patriots, neither team is going to win this week.

Take the Seahawks at -8

I’m looking forward to seeing what the folks over at the FanYard have to say and how we match up against their YardStick.  Last week, we pushed.  Hopefully, this week, we’ll be able to tick off a win.

All you Sports Betting Freaks out there better start getting your jig ready for this Sunday, as there are some excellent match-ups with great Money potential! Finally, we are getting into the portion of the season where you start getting some games between teams the public thinks are good and those that are actually Good. This week we got 5 Money Picks that I feel are the best of the Season so far. Sit back, grab a cold one and run to your sportsbook after reading the Kat’s Meow for Week 6!

Remember all lines are as of 3pm est on betonline.com

MONEY PICKS

1. Redskins +3.5 @ Packers

The Redskins are coming together with an outstanding Defense and a maturing QB in Jason Campbell. They took out the vaunted Lions Offense last week and now turn their explosive safeties, Laron Landry and Sean Taylor, loose on the Pack. The Skin’s D is only allowing 86 ypg rushing and are rushing themselves to the tune of 130 ypg. The Pack are coming off a tough loss, at home, against the Bears. They practically gave that one away with all the turnovers. I normally don’t like betting against Brett Favre, but the Skins are playing excellent football and have the right match-ups in the secondary to deal with Favre’s passing.

TAKE THE SKINS +3.5

2. Titans +3 @ Bucs

I about fell out of my chair when I saw this line and jumped on it early in the week thinking it would move the other way. Are you kidding me? The Titans, with Vince Young, getting 3 points against what I feel is a vastly over rated team in the Bucs, especially now that they have lost Cadillac and Pittman for the rest of the season. The Titans are only giving up 71 ypg rushing while they tote the rock for 153 ypg. On the other side, this ‘Great Bucs D’ is giving up 124 ypg rushing and as I mentioned earlier are now without there 1st two tailbacks. Young is 12-2 ATS as the Dawg and 7-1 ATS in away games. One thing is clear early on in this man’s career: He loves proving people and oddsmakers wrong. Run to your sportsbook and play on…

TAKE THE TITANS +3

3. Eagles -3.5 @ Jets

I took this one early in the week at -3 because I had a feeling it would move. The Eagles, with Andy Reid as their Head Coach, are 12-1 Straight Up and 10-3 ATS when coming off a week of rest. The Eagles desperately need this game if they have any hopes staying in contention for the NFC East. The Jets are going nowhere this season and just don’t have enough play making ability from Chad Pennington to put the points on the board necessary to compete in the NFL.

TAKE THE EAGLES -3. Buy the 1/2 point to get it down from -3.5

4. Dolphins @ Browns O/U 45 points

Here’s a case where you have a team in the Browns who have been putting up a bunch of points going against a pretty porous D in the Dolphins. One would think to take the over here, right? Not so fast, young horny college guy. Think about the facts: Cleo Lemon is going to be starting at QB for the Dolphins. In the last 3 years the Browns Over/Under Record at home are as follows: As the Favorite: 1-7 Under In weeks 5-9: 2-8 Under When playing against a losing team the Browns are 2-10 Under!

TAKE THE BROWNS/DOLPHINS UNDER 45.5 Buy 1/2 point as many combinations of scoring can give you a total of 45, thus resulting in a push. Give yourself some breathing room for the Win at 45.5

5. Giants -3.5 @ Falcons

The Monday Night Game is down in Atlanta and I bet ya the folks at ESPN thought they were going to have a marketing cream pie when this first got put on the schedule. Since Michael Vick is in training for the Big House and Joey Harrington is trying become a QB again this game has certainly lost a lot of luster. The Giants are actually on a 3 game winning streak and the Falcons look confused and water logged. The Giants simply have too many weapons for the Falcons to deal with along with a pass rush that is fast becoming one of the better pass rushes in the NFC. Harrington will throw his 2-3 picks again and Plaxico ‘Just call me when it’s game time’ Burress will be all over Deangelo ‘Nobody respects me so I’ll spit in there face’ Hall.

TAKE THE GIANTS -3. Buy the 1/2 point down from -3.5

THE OTHER GAMES: Not so many gun to my head games this week as I kinda like many of these match-ups, just not enough to get into the Money Picks!

1. Pats -5.5 @ Cowboys

I took this when it first came out and got the Pats at -4! I love them at that line but it get’s a little dicey here at 5.5 I wouldn’t be surprised actually if the Pats wipe the floor with the Cowboys as Belichek has destroyed many finer QB’s (Marino and Elway to name a few) in his first match-up with them. Romo still has a long way to go before we can start putting him up there as an elite QB. I know Moss is going to have a field day because I gotta a feeling he’s so tired of Terell Owens even being mentioned in the same breath with his when it comes to the great receivers of our generation. I for one would love to see a big Patriots Win along with Owens getting all Jacked Up from Rodney Harrison.

37.jpg

TAKE THE PATS -5.5

2. Panthers +4.5 @ Cardinals

Like Madison was mentioning earlier, it looks as if Vinny ‘Old Man’ Testaverde could very well get the nod at QB for the Panthers. On the other side of the desert you have 36 yr. old Kurt Warner starting for the Cards. Strange things happen in the Dry Heat of Arizona and I would stay away from this crazy ass game. If you are so inclined though I would actually take the Panthers as John Fox is a tough Head Coach on the Road when he’s the underdog. I still don’t trust the Cards, especially when ‘China Doll’ Warner has to play a whole game.

TAKE THE PANTHERS +4.5

3. Raiders +9.5 @ Chargers

The Raiders find themselves in a battle for 1st place in the West, actually they are in 1st place which is just Crazy. The Chargers are looking to continue the drubbing that they put on the Broncos last week. I think the Raiders will be able to run some on the Chargers and their Defense is coming around. If Culpepper can hit some big throws early in this game we could be in for a dogfight. Anytime a team with a good rushing attack is getting close to 10 points and they are facing a Norv Turner led team, which is 1-10 ATS when favored by more than 5 points against division opponents, I like my chances with the Dawg!

TAKE THE RAIDERS +10. Buy the 1/2 point from 9.5 to make it +10

4. Bengals -3 @ Chiefs

The Bengals are another team coming off a week of rest and with a lot to prove. They need a win desperately as the Steelers and Ravens are looking to run away with the division. I like the match-up of the WR’s of the Bengals against the secondary of the Chiefs. On the flip side, I don’t like a very physical runner, Larry Johnson, getting into the linebackers of the Bengals. Even though Arrowhead Stadium is a tough place to play I gotta go with Carson Palmer on the road for a much needed win.

TAKE THE BENGALS -3

5. Dolphins +4.5 @ Browns

Big thing here is the Dolphins just look really ugly. Cam Cameron looks as if he’s a worn out High School Principle who needs a lot of Jack Daniels just to make it through the afternoon. Cleo Lemon is starting at QB and the Browns are starting to believe!

TAKE THE BROWNS -4.5

6. Rams +9 @ Ravens

If the Rams had anybody, I mean anybody on offense that was left from the opening day roster besides Torry Holt I would take the Rams in a heartbeat here. The problem is they don’t and with Samari Rolle returning in the secondary for the Ravens I gotta believe the Ravens could throw a shutout here. The hook is the Ravens are just God Awful on offense! I want so badly to take the Rams here, but I’m going with…

TAKE THE RAVENS -9

7. Texans +6.5 @ Jags

This is a pretty big showdown in the AFC South! The Jags have found their groove and the Texans are in every ball game come the 4th quarter. The Texans have won the previous 2 meetings and have a good QB on the rise in Matt Schaub. He’s going to get back Ahman Green this week, but Andre Johnson is still out and that will hurt his ability to stretch the field on the Jags. The Texans are only giving up 91 ypg against the run this year so this game should be very physical and low scoring. The Jags are tough at home, but I think this is too many points to have to cover with a so-so offense.

TAKE THE TEXANS +7. Buy the 1/2 point up from +6.5

8. Vikings +5 @ Bears

6972372_18_1.jpg

This line has moved up to +6 Vikings and now back down to +5 for the Vikings. The Vikes are coming off their bye week where hopefully Coach Childress figured out he needs to give the ball even more to Adrian Petersen. This Coach Childress is a frickin’ goofball if you ask me. The Vikings simply can’t put the fuckin’ ball in the endzone. Part of this is due to our lack of any great receivers and the other part is due to just plain conservative/idiot play calling. Childress needs to learn you mold your offense around what you have, not try and mold ‘what you don’t have’ around an offense. If he can learn that before game time on Sunday maybe the Vikes have a shot at the upset. My bet is he won’t and this will be one mother fuckin’ ugly game to watch.

benson.JPG

398331.jpg
The Bears look silly on offense as well. One of the most ridiculous decisions I’ve witnessed in recent years is the trading of Thomas Jones to the Jets and keeping Mr. 2yds per carry Benson for the Bears backfield. It wasn’t because of Money, which would have made sense, it was because Mr. Slowfoot Benson couldn’t get along with Jones. Probably because he’s not nearly as talented. Some will say Jones had the problem with Benson, which makes sense. Wouldn’t you have a problem watching a guy half your talent get an equal amount of playing time not to mention much more money than you? If the Vikes can get some turnovers maybe they have a shot, otherwise No Chance! Hester takes one back and the Bears win 17-9!

TAKE THE BEARS -5

9. Saints +6.5 @ Seahawks

The Saints are back to being the aint’s! The Seahawks are back to being soft. This game could be just pure ugly or be the 45-41 game everybody is talking about come Monday morning. You gotta think the Saints are due to Win one sometime. I mean are they really this Bad? If the weather is good up in the Pacific Northwest this could be a fun shootout.

TAKE THE SAINTS +7. Buy the 1/2 point up from +6.5

There you have it sports betting freaks! It’s the best time of year: College Football is in full swing, the NFL starts revealing who’s good and who’s bad, Baseball Playoffs, leaves turning colors, and Guys & Girls looking for the Hook-up that will carry them through the Long Cold Winter. So go out and GET SOME THIS WEEKEND!

bsith_phillysnow.jpg

I’m going to be honest with you sports betting freaks. I hate most of this week’s match-ups! Most of these games are pretty fucking murky if you ask me. I spend way too much of my time during the week looking at numbers, trends, physical and emotional states of teams to come up with this pile of shit that we have here on Sunday. Now I know I’m supposed to be a little more politically correct, but when you have this kind of mediocrity being played out there isn’t a whole lot of value out there in my opinion. The one thing I will be going with this week are good defenses and good quarterbacks. There are a couple of Dawgs that might come through, but that’s the thing, they aren’t the kind of Dawgs we saw last week. Anyway here we go…

Just so you all know these lines come from BetOnline.com

MY HOT, MONEY PICKS

1. Ravens -3.5 @ 49ers

Trent Dilfer just lost his starting blind side protector, Jonas Jennings, due to personal reasons. Personally I hope Dilfer has a good life insurance policy because he’s going to need it against a very pissed off D in the Ravens. Billick always bounces back well after a loss.

TAKE THE RAVENS -3. BUY THE 1/2 POINT

2. Bears +3 @ Packers

The Bears are wounded and in a deep hole. Normally I would side with them on this, but if you don’t think Brett has been waiting for another shot at these guys now that he has some talent around him you’re fooling yourself. Other than the past few years Brett has always played the Bears very well and Sunday Night will be no exception!

TAKE THE PACK -3

3. Chargers +1 @ Broncos

I know all is crashing down around the Chargers right now! That’s why I’m picking them to give L.T. the ball 33 times and for him to finally break out his cape!

TAKE THE CHARGERS +1

4. Jaguars -2 @ Chiefs

I still don’t buy the Chiefs even if they are at Arrowhead Stadium. The Jags will get their running game going and are well rested to hit all over the place on Sunday!

TAKE THE JAGS -2

5. Lions +3.5 @ Redskins

The Lions I believe are overrated and they have never won (0-20) in Washington! The Skins are rested and you can believe Landry and Taylor will bust some receiver’s in the chops Sunday!

TAKE THE REDSKINS -3. Buy the 1/2 point

6. Panthers +3 @ Saints

Every trend here says to take the Panthers as they have owned the Saints in New Orleans (6-0) in the last 6 games. This is the season for the Saints though and something in me says Brees and Bush are a little too competitive to throw away the whole season just yet.

TAKE THE SAINTS -3

THE GAMES I’D PLAY IF I HAD A GUN TO MY HEAD

1. Cardinals -3.5 @ Rams

The Rams are a mess. The Cards are hot! I don’t know what to expect in this one because these are the games the Cards traditionally lose, but how in the hell can you hang your hat on the Rams.

TAKE THE CARDS -3. Buy the 1/2 point

2. Jets +3.5 @ Giants

There is something weird inside me saying the Jets are going to cover if you get them up to +4. Just a hunch because I feel like the Giants have had there 2 big games and are due for a let down.

TAKE THE JETS +4. Buy the half point

3. Dolphins +5 @ Texans

I’d love to take the Dolphins and the points here, but there is nothing in Miami that says I shouldn’t be checked for insanity if I did that. The Texans are coming off 2 losses after starting out Hot. I see them getting back on track at home.

TAKE THE TEXANS -5

4. Browns +16.5 @ Patriots

Rodney Harrison is back and he hasn’t had any physical contact since August. If I was a Brown receiver I’d be having my head on a swivel and getting down as fast as possible when going over the middle.

TAKE THE PATS -16.5

5. Falcons +8 @ Titans

I’m torn on this one because you just can’t bet against Vince Young (13-3 ATS) but he’s never had to cover this many points. The Falcons are improving, but still it’s Joey Harrington against Vince Young! Given the past 2 weeks I guess you have to go with the Dawg!

TAKE THE FALCONS +8

6. Bucs +9.5 @ Colts

Again here we have a ton of points. I hate trying to figure out the Colts though as a betting team. When I go with Peyton he’s goes south, when I think I have some points and go against him he comes out huge, go figure. This game will tell you if the Bucs are remotely for real.

TAKE THE BUCS +10. Buy the 1/2 point if you have to

7. Seahawks +6 @ Steelers

I hate to go against the Steelers, especially at home. I think they will win this game but the Seahawks do have some revenge issues from a couple of years ago.

TAKE THE SEAHAWKS +6

8. Cowboys -10 @ Bills

The Bills are decimated by injuries and have a newbie at QB in Trent Edwards, who I’m betting will replace J.P. Losman as the starter before the year is over. After all, Bill Walsh told the Bills they got a future star when they drafted this kid. Cowboys are clicking on all cylinders right now and Romo is still playing for his Retirement Account.

HERE’S the Deal– IF I GO COWBOYS I GO -9.5 and buy the half point. If I go with the Bills I wait until Monday afternoon and let that line rise to +11 and take the Bills.

IN THE INTEREST OF THE BLOG I WOULD GO WITH THE COWBOYS AT -9.5!

aagu100brett-favre-last-game-of-2005-season-posters.jpg

So here we go with Week 4 in the NFL. My sports betting G-Spot is on fire already and it’s only Friday. We’ve got some great divisional match-ups, Favre going for the Marino touchdown record, Matt Schaub returning to Atlanta, and Daunte Culpepper finally returning to a starter role with some revenge on his mind. It’s going to be a great weekend so saddle up and take in my 6 Money Picks for Sunday!

MONEY PICKS

1. Raiders +4 vs Dolphins

Daunte returns to his Florida roots with revenge on his mind! The Miami squad just isn’t very good despite what some analysts are saying about there running game coming alive. The Raiders defense of last year will show up in this game as well as Lamont Jordan running for 100 yards. Daunte sticks a couple of throws in Cam Cameron’s face and the Raiders win by 3!

Take the Raiders +4

2. Bears at Lions Over/Under 45 points

I know the Bears are really dinged up on D, but we’re talking about a team that still has a pissed of Brian Urlacher and finally a new starting QB who won’t throw int’s every other series. The Lions are still very overrated and won’t be flinging the ball around with the kind of success they think they will. The total has gone Under 5 out of the last 6 meetings in Detroit.

Take the Under! Buy a 1/2 point to 45 1/2 You might need it if something goes crazy 28-17 Bears

3. Eagles - 2.5 vs Giants

Last week was a coming out party for McNabb as he got some confidence back on that knee of his. The Giants secondary is like the Bengals, they both SUCK! The Eagles are a better coached team and 3-1 in there last 4 games at Giant stadium.

Take the Eagles -2.5 Don’t settle for -3. Buy the 1/2 point if it’s at -3

4. Steelers -6 vs Cardinals

Matt Leinart has not gotten comfortable yet in 2007 and he’s going to be facing a Defense that blitzes even more than the Ravens did last week. Big Ben is 14-8 in his career on the road. The Steelers D just has too much firepower and a much calmer QB.

Take the Steelers -5.5 Buy the 1/2 point down from -6 It’s a couple of field goals for a win instead of a push

5. Rams -13 at Cowboys

110_f_2193997_jmntl8v2uhnabdjfldv1pqwokqj6tz.jpg

I know all of you are going to be saying “How much Vodka has Alikat already had this Friday afternoon?” after I make this pick, but you can thank me later. Everybody in the whole world is picking the Cowboys. I admit they will most likely win this game pretty comfortably, but I don’t play games for SU WINS. I play against a number and the number the Cowboys are getting -13 is way too high for the NFL. They will drink and party a little too much this Saturday night and take the Rams lightly. They are 3-7 in the last 10 years in Game 4 of the Season. They have a Monday night game next week in Buffalo. The Rams are desperate for anything and Marc Bulger, despite 2 broken ribs, will have a good day against a weak secondary.

Take the Rams +14 Buy a 1/2 or 1 point, whatever you need to make it +14. Sometimes you have to have some AlleyGuts

6. Pats -7 at Bengals

If I’ve ever seen a Lock this is it! I would run to my sportsbook before Saturday night so you can take advantage of this cockeyed line. The last time I looked the Bengals couldn’t defend my grandmother’s post routes much less Randy Moss’s. They gave up over 50 points to Derek Anderson. What do you think Tom Brady is going to do? He is 24-1 on non-grass surfaces in his career. Get yourself some money for Christmas!

Take the Pats -6 1/2 Buy the 1/2 point just in case something goes crazy so you win instead of push!

GAMES I’D PLAY IF A GUN WAS TO MY HEAD

1. Jets -3.5 at Bills

The Bills need something positive to happen in 2007. They are 3-1 ATS in the last 4 games against the Jets in Buffalo. It’s hard to win with a Rookie’s 1st start as it looks like Trent Edwards will get the nod, but they are playing the Jets and you just can’t really trust your money with Chad Pennington.

Take the Bills +3.5 I’d stay as far away from this game as I could!

2. Packers -1.5 at Vikings

georgeblanda.jpg

Favre is going to break a couple of records on Sunday. One will be Dan Marino’s all-time touchdown mark and the other will be George Blanda’s all-time interception mark. He needs just 3 int’s to get that and the Vikings have owned Brett in the Metrodome over his career. Favre is just 5-10 lifetime in the Dome. I love watching this divisional rivalry! I expect the Vikings to be jacked up and put loads of pressure on Favre since he has no running game. Darren Sharper will get a pick or 2 and the Vikings will win on a last second touchdown by Adrian Petersen!

Take the Vikings +1.5 in the upset special of the day!

3. Broncos +9.5 at Colts

The Colts have owned the Broncos the past several years and I don’t see things changing here this Sunday. Jay Cutler is banged up some with a sore ankle and the Broncos defense is just not up to speed with the new schemes they have implemented this year. It’s tough to bet on the Colts at this price but I have to go…

Take the Colts -9.5

4. Ravens -4 at Browns

This game could be a blowout or just plain ugly and decided by a field goal. The Browns are actually 3-0 ATS at home against the Ravens, go figure. I just don’t like the ability of the Ravens offense to ever consistently score enough points to hammer home victories ATS when they are favored. Jamal Lewis did make some comments about the holes being bigger in Cleveland than they were in Baltimore, so you know that doesn’t sit well with Ray Lewis and the gang. In the end I’d have to go…

Take the Ravens -4 Again I’d stay away from this game!

5. Texans -3 at Falcons

michael-vick-this-is.jpg

Matt Schaub returns to wreak some revenge on the team that discarded him for Michael Vick. BTW- Where is Vick these days? Oh yeah, he’s smoking some joints getting in shape for the Big Joint come this winter! I like the looks of the Texans with their Defensive Line gelling and the special teams playing excellent. They are beat up coming into Atlanta with both Andre Johnson and Ahman Green out with injuries. The Falcons are starting to get their ground game going and they are getting some pressure on the QB. I like Schaub to come in and stick it to the Falcons.

Take the Texans -2.5 Buy the 1/2 point to get it at -2.5

6. Chiefs +11.5 at Chargers

The Chargers have to save their season and get L.T. the ball. The Chiefs have no offense and will get buried by a team that will ignore Norv Turner and take things into there own hands.

Take the Chargers -11.5 I’d stay away from this one as it’s just so many points in the NFL especially for a divisional game

7. Seahawks -1.5 at 49ers

The 49ers got the Seahawks twice last year and the NFC West is just plain crazy. This is yet another divisional game with playoff implications. To me this game is just a coin flip as I think the Seahawks should get some revenge for last year, but the 49ers seem to come alive when they play this team as they are 3-1 ATS in the last 4 at San Fran. I just think this game comes down to who has the ball last.

Take the 49ers +1.5 at home! I’d just lay off this game and enjoy the show!

8. Bucs +3 at Panthers

The Panthers will start David Carr at QB for the injured Jake Delhomme. I personally think this gives them a little more juice to there offense. The Bucs have struggled in Carolina, 1-5 ATS in the last 6 games, so after 2 wins in a row I see the Bucs going down to a better defensive team.

Take the Panthers -3 These games in the NFC South always come down to a field goal so if you must bet this game I would buy the 1/2 point and get the Panthers at -2.5

9. Bears -2.5 at Lions

I’m betting the under in this game for 1 of my Money Picks but I also think the Bears will rebound and win this game by a field goal or more. I know the Sexy Pick here is the Lions because everybody seems to think they have changed and know how to win now. The Bears have too much pride and have to be looking at staying close to the Packers. The Lions will not be able to withstand the pressure the Bears will bring despite missing 5 starters on the D side of the ball.

Take the Bears -2.5

So there you have it sports betting freaks of the world! Enjoy the weekend and get your Money On!

Madison just informed me of our sports betting pervert lurking around our site!  I know I’m hot guys but there are plenty of sites out there specializing in the hot, juicy ass shots of chicks named Jenna, Belladonna, Foxy, or something Tequila.  I’m pretty socially liberal, so whatever floats your boat go ahead, but I’m here for the money honey and I’ve got some great picks for week three.

MONEY PICKS

These are the ones that count for all you sports betting freaks out there and the ones I’ll be playing myself this Sunday!

1. Rams +3.5 at Bucs

The Rams have to get a win or the season gets ugly.  In order to do that they have to get Stephen Jackson the ball 35 times and Marc Bulger has to start earning that 68 million dollar contract.  They will do both this Sunday against the Bucs.  The Bucs always play the Saints tough so last week isn’t a real truth of their ability.  They give up good yardage in both the passing game and the running game. Even though the Rams don’t play the best outdoors in this kind of heat it is a must win for them so…

Go with the RAMS +3.5

2. Cowboys +3 at Bears

A great Sunday Night game in Chi-Town. T ony Romo has a chance to secure that huge payday he’s been looking for with a studly performance against one of the best D’s in the league.  I like the match-up problems the Bears will have with T.O.  The Bears should be able to throw against the Cowboys…oh wait a minute, they still don’t have a QB that can do that.  Seriously Bear Fans, what is in the Chicago River that makes it so damn hard to find a QB that can play the position like a poised, intelligent, strong armed professional instead of some crazy drunk you’d find at Mother’s on Friday Night?  The first one to come up with an answer can take me to Hawaii!  This game is close throughout and comes down to Romo making the play that Grossman can’t.

Go with the COWBOYS +3

3. Colts -6 at Texans

The Texans are without WR Andre Johnson and that will hurt them Sunday as they try to score enough points to keep up with a irritated Peyton Manning.  I just see the Colts getting back on track here after a tough battle against the Titans last week.  The Texans will stay close for awhile but…

Go with the COLTS -6

4. Cardinals at Ravens — Total 35.5 points

The Cards have gone Over 7 out of their last 8 games.  They have gone Over 4 out of their last 5 games on the road.  The Cards love to pass it late when they are behind and this produces not only big plays for them but also provides INT’s for an athletic D like the Ravens have.  They will score some on the Ravens and that will force the Ravens to open up their playbook.  35 1/2 points is not a whole lot for an NFL game given this match-up.

TAKE THE OVER 35.5 POINTS

5. Giants at Redskins — Total 40.5 points

Here’s a match-up between two teams that hate each other and one in which the Giants (and Madison) is desperate for a win.  The Giants have gone Over in 9 of their last 13 games on the road.  When they play the Redskins at Washington they are 5 out of their last 5 in Overs.  The Giants can’t stop anyone on Defense and they need a victory, meaning they will pull out every play they have to win this game.  When they are backed up this bad, Eli and company come out throwing and this spells big plays on offense and the Skin Defense. I look for this game to be 24-20 or 28-24!

TAKE THE OVER 40.5 POINTS BUY THE HALF POINT DOWN TO 40 POINTS

OTHER SUNDAY PICKS (plus match ups against the spread for the games I’m going over/under in my picks)
1. Chargers -4.5 at Packers

The Norv Turner era isn’t getting off to a blistering start, go figure!  Phillip Rivers isn’t in a groove and L.T. has been getting shut down.  The Pack have a very good D which will create some more problems for the Bolts.  The Pack are dinged up quite a bit though and will have problems scoring points of their own against a very physical D led by Shane Merriman.  This game will be tight unless L.T. breaks out with his Superman Cape, which is always possible.  I like the Chargers to pull this one out but not sure about the cover.

TAKE THE +4.5 POINTS and THE PACK at Home

2. Vikings +3 at Chiefs

This could be a snoozer that will require lots of booze or lots of Money wagered to make it exciting.  I wouldn’t waste my liver or money on this one even though I still love my Vikes!  Kelly Holcomb will probably start for the injured Tavaris Jackson which won’t be such a bad thing.  L.J. will still have trouble finding running room for a 3rd week in a row.  The Chiefs suck and the Vikes aren’t exactly burning it up.

TAKE THE 3 POINTS AND THE VIKINGS

3. Lions +6.5 at Eagles

Haven’t actually seen a line posted the past 24 hours at Betonline, but the last time there was one posted this is what it was.  The Lions think they are on a roll and the Eagles will sink if they don’t win this game.  I gotta tell you I wouldn’t touch this game with that pervert’s “widget,” but I’m thinking the Eagles have to win and that goes a long way in the NFL.

TAKE THE EAGLES AT -6.5

4. Bills +16.5 at Patriots

What can you say about the Pats other than they look F…..G awesome?  And the Bills?  They suck!  I do think this could be a little too rich of a line, but I never bet against the Pats when they are looking this good.  My hat’s off to anyone that has the balls to take the points and the Bills in Foxboro.  If you do I would make it a small play.

TAKE THE PATS -16.5 and NO MORE

5. Dolphins +3 at Jets

Both of these teams are 0-2 and need something to quell the press from ripping them to pieces.  Miami never plays the Jets well in New York!  Eric Mangini has more press to deal with than Cam Cameron so I gotta go with the Jets at home.

TAKE THE JETS -3

6. 49ers +9 at Steelers

This game is a true test to see what team is really worth the hype.  I think the Steelers are for real and I also believe in what Mike Nolan has going in San Fran.  The Steelers will blitz the hell outta Alex Smith as well as load up the box against Frank Gore.  If Alex can grow up in this game and make some big time throws, the 49ers have a shot.  The Steelers have been moving the ball pretty well even though it has been against suspect competition.  I think this has the chance to be one of the best match-ups of the day.  Tough game to call, but if I had to I would…

TAKE THE 49ERS +9 POINTS

7. Cardinals +7.5 at Ravens

Even if you don’t like my over/under call, this game will be a juicy one against the spread!  I like the match up of a secondary that can be beaten in the Ravens against two of the best WR’s in the game in Fitzgerald and Boldin for the Cards.  Head Coach Ken Whisenhunt faced off against these Ravens plenty in his days with the Steelers so nothing is going to overwhelm him.  If Matt Leinart can stay calm in face of the crazy Ravens pressure the Cards could pull the upset here.  The Ravens will have Steve McNair back at QB though I don’t really see that as an advantage.  McNair’s time is up.  In the end I think the Ravens will get a late turnover or Ed Reed will return a punt for a big gain and they’ll win, but if you like the point spread…

TAKE THE +7.5 points AND THE CARDINALS

8. Jags +3 at Broncos

This should be a physical game with the winner eventually wearing down the loser in the 4th quarter.  When it comes to handicapping close games like this I look for two big things: QB and Coach. I n both categories the Broncos have the edge along with the fact they are playing at home in Mile High Altitude.

TAKE THE BRONCOS -3

9. Bengals +3 at Seahawks

Are the Bengals going to give up another 51 points?  I don’t think so as teams seem to bog down in the upper Northwest.  The Seahawks are coming off a tough brain fart loss against the Cardinals and can’t afford to go down at home.  You just never know which team for the Bengals is going to show up.  The Seahawks play well at home and I would…

TAKE THE SEAHAWKS -3

10. Browns +3 at Raiders

Can Derek Anderson be the savior in Cleveland?  Not really, but he will try to scare up another win against a Raider team needing a win or another September probably goes down 0-4.  The Browns have some playmakers on offense but the Raiders have a very solid pass defense.  I think the Raiders will come out pissed and ready to roll up a win this Sunday but I wouldn’t trust them with any money.

TAKE THE RAIDERS -3

12. Panthers -3.5 at Falcons

Will the Real Panthers show up please! This is another team that’s schizo so betting on them makes no sense.  They should beat the lowly Falcons and sad sack Joey Harrington, but these are the kinds of games the Panthers have lost over the past 3 years. I like for them to get a few picks against Harrington and win this one but I’d stay away.

TAKE THE PANTHERS -3.5 I WOULD BUY THE 1/2 point.

SERIOUSLY BOYS, STAY AWAY!

13.  Giants +3.5 at Redskins

The Giants need a win or Tom Coughlin is going to be the first coach fired this season.  He is to coaching what Andy Reid is to Fatherhood… JUST NOT THERE TO CONTROL THE REBEL SONS!

The Giants are more dysfunctional than the Brady Bunch Cast was off the set! The Redskins have got a good looking QB in Jason Campbell and he’ll have some nice TD tosses against the Giants weak secondary. The one thing I will say is the Giants have nothing to lose and always play the Redskins tough. This could be an old fashioned shoot-out in Washington come Sunday.

TAKE THE REDSKINS -3 BUY THE HALF POINT

Posted by | Alikat | in Weekly Picks

Hey there all you sports betting zanies and weekend warriors! Alikat is back with her weekly picks all jazzed up for a very good week 2 in the NFL. I’ll first give you my PLAYS ON SUNDAY and then get into the rest of the picks. The rest of the picks, just so you know, consists of who I think will cover and win but that doesn’t mean I’m necessarily betting on them. The PLAYS ON SUNDAY will be the PICKS that make up my RECORD and where I’m putting my money! So here we go.

PLAYS ON SUNDAY

1. Packers +1 at Giants

Love this game! Favre will exploit a very weak Giants secondary and whether Manning goes or not the Giants simply don’t match-up well with a very strong Packer Defense.

TAKE THE PACKERS AT +1

2. 49ers +3 at Rams

The 49ers have the makings of a solid young defense. The Rams are very beat up along the O-Line as well as having lost Tye Hill CB to a broken back. The 49ers always play the Rams tough and they’re getting 3 points. I like those odds!

TAKE THE 49ERS +3

3. Saints -3.5 at Bucaneers

You have to love a team expected to win the NFC Title that has an extended break and is coming off an awful showing in their last game. The Saints will pour it on a weak Bucs team that just isn’t very good.

TAKE THE SAINTS AT -3.5, though I got them early in the week at -3. So for the record I’m going with them at -3!

4. Patriots -3.5 vs Chargers (in New England)

I like the fact that the Patriot Players have had all this crap to deal with this week. I gotta feeling they are tired and pissed off a little at their own coach for this distraction which will only focus them more intently on beating the Chargers. You know they can’t lose on the heels of everybody thinking the only way they have won so much is because of “Sex, Lies, and Videotape”!

TAKE THE PATS -3.5 If you can find it get them at -3, but don’t pay for it!

5. Bengals -7 at Browns

The Browns suck despite having some very good young talent. The Bengals aren’t about to take a step back after winning against the Ravens. Carson Palmer didn’t have his A game on Monday. I expect he will Sunday and that means some points for the Bengals. I don’t usually go with a favorite of 7 points very often, but this one smells too good.

TAKE THE BENGALS AT -7, of course if you can get it and I have seen it at some sports books, take the Bengals at -6.5

THE OTHER PICKS FOR WEEK 2

Bills +10 at Steelers

Steelers have too much on both sides of the ball in their home opener. I do think it will be closer than people think, at least for 2-3 quarters.

STEELERS

Colts -7 at Titans

This could be a blow out or the Titans will keep this ugly and close. They did play them tough both games last year and won in Titanville! There are at least two upsets this week and this could be one of them. If you can get the Titans at +7.5 It could be a good bet. In the end I have to go with…

COLTS

Texans +6.5 at Panthers

Another tough one in my opinion. The Panthers historically don’t do well as favorites at home, especially by more than 3 points. The Texans are looking for their 5th straight win dating back to last year. I’m going with the upset here if only ATS. Take the +6.5 points on the…

TEXANS +6.5

Falcons +10 at Jaguars

This game looks like it will be blacked out in the Jacksonville area. That shows you how much people care about this game without Vick and Leftwich. The Jags have to bounce back at home or else Jack Del Rio may have to hand over the keys to OMG- Mike Tice! I wouldn’t touch this game for anything. I like the Jags to Win, but I have serious doubts about them covering. On the other hand no matter how much help you try to give Joey Harrington it just goes down the drain, like handing Money to a 16 year old on Friday night.
JAGS TO WIN, BUT STAY AWAY!

Vikings +3 at Lions

The Vikes have beaten the Lions the last 10 games. I don’t see anything changing on Sunday. The Lions are once again over rated and over hyped. The Vikes will WIN

VIKINGS +3

Cowboys -3.5 at Dolphins

We’ll see if the Cowboys can stay focused and consistent after their huge win Sunday Night. Wade Phillips and Cam Cameron face off against each other after having been on the Chargers last year. Wade has the much better team though Miami seems to play the Cowboys tough over the years.

COWBOYS -3.5

Seahawks -2.5 at Cardinals

Cardinals need to Win or else they face the same old songs in the media this year as years past. The Seahawks should win this game, but that’s the problem for me, they should win it. If I was to bet I would take the Hawks at -2.5 and nothing more. If it goes to 3 you have to like the Cards at home in a must win situation.

GO WITH THE CARDS AT +3

Jets -9.5 at Ravens

Ravens are pissed off! Jets will most likely be playing Kellen Clemens in his first pro start at QB! That doesn’t sound like a good mixture in Raven Stadium. The good thing for the Jets is they’ll be getting Kyle Boller at QB for the Ravens, so anything could happen. Stay away!

Ravens to WIN, but not so sure about the cover

Raiders +10 at Broncos

Hopefully for the Raider sports betting fans they will see Culpepper behind center instead of McCown. Stupid mistake on Kiffin’s part last week starting him. He’s just not that good! I actually think this game will be closer than people think. You have to go with the Broncos because everything points that way and even if Culpepper does start it has been a long time since he played a meaningful game.

BRONCOS TO WIN, NOT SO SURE ABOUT THE COVER

Chiefs +12 at Bears

The Bears should KILL the Chiefs! But they do have Rex at QB and he better play well or his snaps are numbered. I don’t see how, barring interceptions that the Chiefs can possibly score on the MAD Bears Defense. If Rex plays well this could get ugly early.

BEARS -12

Well that’s all boys and girls of the football world. Stay tuned for my Monday Night Pick coming on the Monday afternoon post! Get your drink on and let the MONEY ROLL!
