We are not bulleting the first entry because of its seriousness.  Back up Bills tight end Kevin Everett suffered a life-threatening spinal cord injury on a special teams play on Sunday.  He was rushed to the hospital and had surgery.  Everett’s doctors report he’s had touch sensation in parts of his body but will likely suffer some paralysis.  Our hearts go out to him and his family.

  • Pro Bowl offensive tackle Orlando Pace will be out for the year with a torn labrum and rotator cuff.
  • Dolphins safety Yeremiah Bell is done for the season with a torn Achillies tendon.  This is a tough loss as Bell was the glue holding together a weak Miami secondary.
  • Eli Manning is out for a month with a separated shoulder.  Say hi to your new starting linebacker-fullback-quarterback, Jared Lorenzen.  Also, starting running back Brandon Jacobs may be out for about a month as well.  The nightmare is just beginning for my New York Football Giants.
