So here we go sports betting freaks with the second half of the season getting underway! Of course everybody is talking about ‘The Game of the Century’ this Sunday between the Pats and Colts. I’m going to be one of the first people to tell you to just sit back and watch this game as opposed to betting on it. When you have such superstars all over the field it’s my opinion you should just enjoy the Show and not be worried for 3 1/2 hours how your team is doing against the spread. I know this sounds strange coming from a sports betting freak like myself, but I still love the game for what it is when you get the best of the best playing each other. Now, as for my thoughts on the game itself I must say 2 things:
1. I personally hate the Colts! I can’t stand Peyton Manning’s throwing motion and I find them very boring to watch. I know Madison is ready to chomp off the legs of Tom Brady and desperately wants to see the Pats go down. I on the other hand love the fact that the Pats are toying with the rest of the league and would love nothing more than for them to absolutely Smoke the Colts in the RCA Dome like they did the first half of last year’s AFC Title Game.
2. I love how the Pats have turned the Videotape scandal thing into a personal ‘I’m the Victim’ psychological choke hold on the rest of their opponents. There is nothing more I love watching in sports than an individual or team with a Huge Chip on their shoulders pointing to whomever they play and telling them exactly what they will do to them and then going out and doing it!
With regards to the match-ups:
I think the Colts will have no answer for Randy Moss! Remember that Randy loves the spotlight and he did the best of his work on the turf inside the Metrodome. He’s got the QB to get him the ball and there is nobody on the Colts that can go Man to Man with the fastest and smartest receiver in the game, when he wants to be, and Sunday he will want to be!
The Pats have Asante Samuel in the secondary. Remember, he had a great game last year against the Colts and I expect him to have another one. With Marvin Harrison out the Pats have one less superstar receiver to worry about and that bodes well for Samuel to focus more on Reggie Wayne.
Last year the Pats didn’t have the athletic and versatile Addalius Thomas in their linebacking crew. This guy can do so much and will create problems for the Colts to match-up with. You can put him down on the blocks, drop him in the flat and middle to cover the RB’s and TE’s, and of course bring him on delayed blitzes to pound Manning into the turf! I see Thomas having a huge day against the Colts.
In the end I expect a pretty good game for awhile, but the Pats can and will win this game by more than a touchdown! They have been waiting for this game since their breakdown in the 2nd half of last year’s Title game. Brady is pissed, Moss wants more PR, and Belichek will pull out all stops on Manning with his defensive schemes. Final score 42-31 Patriots! Now on to the Money Picks!
Money Picks Lines are from betonline.com as of Satuday 3pm est
1. Redskins -3.5 @ Jets
The Skins are coming off the debacle in New England and know they have to Win to stay close to the Cowboys. They just have more talent overall than the Jets do, plus the fact that their D is going against a very raw Rookie QB in Kellen Clemens!
TAKE THE SKINS -3. Buy the 1/2 point down from -3.5
2. Chargers -7 @ Vikings
I bet you never thought I would be betting against my Vikings did you? In this case I have to. The Chargers are getting back to last year’s form and the Vikings can’t defend the pass to save a life. Antonio Gates will have a field day against them! The Vikings offense cannot get into the endzone despite having the best tailback in the NFL in Adrian Peterson.
TAKE THE CHARGERS -6.5 Buy the 1/2 points down from -7
3. Bengals -1 @ Bills
Normally I would go with the Bills here at home, but the Bengals are ripe for the old DUE factor finally kicking in. They still have 2 of the best WR’s in the game with T.J. ‘Who’s your Momma’ and Chad ‘I need a new act’ Johnson. The Bills will struggle to stay with these 2 guys and Carson Palmer will get a Win on the Road!
TAKE THE BENGALS -1
4. Seahawks +1.5 @ Browns
The ‘Greastest Show in the Midwest’ returns home after taking care of the Rams last week on the road. Braylon Edwards is finally living up to his Pre-Draft hype and Derek Anderson is making it hard for the Browns Brass this off-season. He simply is making great throws and decisions. The Seahawks are stumbling around plenty so far this year and they are terrible (1-8 ats after bye week) and (2-9 ats away vs non-conf. opponent) in this particular situation.
TAKE THE BROWNS -1.5
THE REST OF THE BUNCH!
1. Packers +2.5 @ Chiefs
Pack are on a roll though this is the 2nd of BB road games. The Chiefs are very tough at home and Coach Edwards is (6-1) after bye weeks in his career. The Pack have Favre plus points and the Chiefs have Jared Allen on the DLine. I’ll take…
The Packers +3. Buy the 1/2 point up from +2.5
2. Cards +3.5 @ Bucs
This game could frankly go anyway given these two teams history over the past couple of years. You just don’t know which team is ever going to show up for the Cards. QB Garcia is playing very good this year and I think they will bounce back after a disappointing loss against the Jags last Sunday.
TAKE THE BUCS -3. Buy the 1/2 point down from -3.5
3. Panthers +4 @ Titans
The Panthers could make this a very tough game for the Titans as they do not beat teams by resounding scores. I like Vince Young getting a little healthier than last week and the fact that the Panthers are more than a little shaky at the QB position.
TAKE THE TITANS -3.5 Buy the 1/2 point down from -4
4. 49ers +3.5 @ Falcons
The 49ers are more than struggling with no output from Alex Smith this year (At least Norv Turner is good for one thing). The Falcons are even more of a mess. I gotta go with…
TAKE THE 49ers +3.5
5. Jags +3 @ Saints
The Saints are getting a little of that swagger back and the Jags are still with Byron Leftwich (I mean Quinn Gray, no I mean… Christ do those two look alike or what).
TAKE THE SAINTS -3 at Home!
6. Broncos +3 @ Lions
Jon Kitna is half way there to joining the Psychic Friends Network! I still don’t think he’ll get in and it starts this Sunday against a Broncos team that desperately needs a Win!
TAKE THE BRONCOS +3
7. Texans +3 @ Raiders
Seriously boys and girls, is anybody going to be watching this game? Oh my bad, I guess the Gangbangers in Oakland and LA will be watching. Sage Rosenfels is in at QB for the Texans. Enough said!
TAKE THE RAIDERS -3
8. Cowboys -3 @ Eagles
Madison said Tony has been seen with Britney Spears. Jesus, has the 67 million already gone to his upper Head! Tony, here’s a little piece of advice: Start dating some Brunette’s. We’re so much smarter than the average blonde and the Kink factor with us is Off the Charts!
TAKE THE EAGLES +3.5
9. Ravens +9 @ Steelers
The funny thing about this game is the Ravens match-up very well with the Steelers. I think the Ravens are very overated and they can’t score like the Vikings. The Steelers are playing very well right now and I foresee them making a final four appearance in the AFC Playoffs, but…
TAKE THE RAVENS +9 points. That’s a lot of points for a Monday Night NFL Game!
GAME OF THE CENTURY SEE ABOVE! TAKE THE PATS -5.5!
Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday as this will be much like the Super Bowl: A complete overhyped and dull game or a down to the wire field goal barn burner won by the guy who replaced Adam Vinatteri in Patriotville, Stephen Gotkowski or something like that! Drink up and remember not to take out your gambling losses on your wives or girlfriends.
BET YA–

Yeah it was a tough week. Frickin Bengals and Skins just couldn’t get there act together enough. I guess I was due given the 8-2-1 record the past 3 weeks. Checked out your site. It’s cool, keep up the good work!
