How’s it going sports betting fans? Do you like the match-ups this weekend? Maybe it’s my contractor problem and that my house is a dusty mess with no working shower but I’m having a hard time getting in the mood for this Sunday.

There are a lot of sloppy games coming up with mediocre play from many teams. To be sure, we are going to find out who can start preparing for next year after this weekend. There are a lot of games with more than a 7 point spread, but the favorites aren’t exactly endearing me with middle of the road defenses to cover those points.

I’ve only got a few money picks this week and I’m still feeling out the whole Colts vs .Jags contest on Monday Night. I will say if you like the Colts, I would grab them now as opposed to waiting until Sunday or Monday. If you like the Jags I would hold out until Monday as I believe they will get more points as we see Sunday come to a close.

All lines are as of 3:30pm pst on BetOnline.

MONEY PICKS

Steelers -3.5 @ Broncos

The Steelers are coming off a bye week and they get back Heinz Ward, whom Big Ben loves down inside the 20 yard line. The Broncos can’t stop anybody much less Willie Parker.

Take the Steelers -3. Buy the 1/2 point down from -3.5

Colts -3 @ Jags

Big Monday Night showdown in Jacksonville! I like the ability of the Colts to score more than I do the ability of the Jags to defend in this AFC South showdown! Although this game will be close, I see the extra week to prepare coming through for Peyton and the Boys!

Take the Colts -2.5. I would buy down a 1/2 point to 2.5 so as not to push this close game!

Titans -1.5 @ Texans

It looks like Vince Young will play and as you know, I love Vince Young and his winning ways against the spread.

Take the Titans -1.5

THE REST OF THE MESS

1. Cards +8.5 @ Skins

Cards are a little shaky at QB. The Skins are off a tough loss at Green Bay. The Skins just have too much on D and Jason Campbell will light up the Cards secondary.

Take the Skins -8.5

2. Falcons +8 @ Saints

Was last week an abberation for the Saints or did they finally right their ship? Too bad we won’t find out against the Falcons.

Take the Saints -8

3. Ravens -3 @ Bills

Trent Edwards may have the look of the Bills’ QB of the future but the Ravens defense of the present is going to smother him and his receivers.

Take the Ravens -3

4. Patriots -16 @ Dolphins

The Pats historically have hard times in South Beach. The Fins don’t have a chance but I’d take them to cover.

Take the Dolphins +16

5. 49ers +9 @ Giants

This match up is going to tear Madison apart as it pits her two favorite teams. It’ll either be an upset or a blow out. I’m going with blow out.

Take the Giants -9

6. Bucs +2 @ Lions

The God Squad comes back from their bye week. Look for them to use their Jesus juice to drown the Bucs (that sounds so gross).

Take the Lions -2

7. Chiefs +2 @ Raiders

I can’t believe I am saying this but the Chiefs, tied for the division lead, visit the Black Hole for a huge AFC West showdown. Just because this match up is in Oakland, I say go with the Raiders.

Take the Raiders -2

8. Jets +6.5 @ Bengals

I have nothing clever to say about this game.

Take the Bengals -6.5

9. Vikings +9.5 @ Cowboys

I like the Vikings defense but if I were to put money on this game, I’d buy the .5 to go to 10 just for some insurance.

Take the Vikings but buy the .5 to go to +10

10. Bears +5.5 @ Eagles

It’s hard to say which team is going to show up on either side and it is a pretty big game for both teams. I may be the only one but I kind of like the Griese-led Bears offense.

Take the Bears but buy the .5 to go to 6.

11. Rams +8 @ Seahawks

The Rams and the Dolphins are waging a pretty intense war for the first pick of the draft in April and while I picked the Fins to cover against the Patriots, neither team is going to win this week.

Take the Seahawks at -8

I’m looking forward to seeing what the folks over at the FanYard have to say and how we match up against their YardStick.  Last week, we pushed.  Hopefully, this week, we’ll be able to tick off a win.

[…] Hot chick ALIKAT made a great call, taking Tennessee at minus 1.5 points, even though Vince Young did not play. Thanks to a record eight fiels goals by rob Bironas, the Titans pulled off a last-second two-point victory to cover for her. The Yardstick for that game ended up pointing to at least a one-point victory for the Titans, which is great, but not high enough for us to have taken the Titans at the line she was using, so score one for the girls.
