What’s up sports betting fans!

The very long opening weekend has finally come to a close and it’s time to lick my wounds a little and count up my losses and pushes, as was the case this weekend.

On Monday, I wrote that I went 1-1-1 on Sunday’s games but I didn’t factor in the Thursday Night Opener and then the two Monday Night Games that I played.

So yeah, Kige got all his picks right straight up but I on the other hand have to deal with the spread.

Record after Week One: 1-3-2

Won: Steelers -4 vs Browns
Loss: Bears +6 vs Chargers
Loss: Saints +6 vs Colts
Loss: Ravens +3 vs Bengals
Push: Redskins -3 vs Dolphins
Push: 49ers -3 vs Cardinals

It was a very frustrating opening weekend because of these five things:

1. Can we finally make the switch and get Hexy Rex Grossman out of the starting lineup?  Hex Grossman just has to bring some offensive firepower or he will waste a defense that can hold LaDainian Tomlinson, the most electrifying ball player in the game, to 25 yards rushing.

2. If you’re the Sanits and you have such a weight advantage on the offensive line, why aren’t you running right at the smaller defensive line employed by the Colts?  Come on Sean Payton, you’re better than that!

3. Hey, Steve McNair, how about either retiring and going fishing or acting like the cool veteran you are instead of some rookie fresh out of Delaware State?  That was the first time in my life I’ve ever heard myself say, “Please put Kyle Boller in the game!”

4. Hey, Brian Billick, what the hell were you thinking with the 3rd and 2 pass play, inside your own 38-yard line, up 20-19, early in the 4th quarter?  The pass was off the mark and intercepted by Cincy leading to the winning touchdown.

5. You, Billick, again, what the hell were you thinking when you’ve got Willis McGahee running for over 3.5 yards a pop and you have the ball on the 2 yard line, with 3 more downs left to tie the game, and you call pass three times?

As I mentioned in my week one sports betting preview, these first few weeks are the toughest as you try to get a bead on who these teams are and what they are capable of, given normal game situations.  Given a chance to bet on the same games, I would go with those underdogs again in the Bears, Saints, and Ravens so I don’t feel too bad.  The Ravens did actually tie it up but the offensive interference call on Todd Heap, one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen, nullified it and Billick just had to throw some more.

All in all, not a good start but I was pretty on the money with the two pushes and I’ve seen much worse go down on opening weekends.  It’s a very long season with plenty of games to be played so I’m gonna stick to my guns and you should stick with me because I will be making money over the long haul.  Wanna bet?
