Do you think the Pats were just a little mad this off-season watching the Colts get all this glory when they were kicking the Colt’s ass at halftime in late January?  So they went out and got Adalius Thomas from the Ravens, Randy Moss from the Raiders, Donte Stallworth from Philly, and drafted Brandon Merriweather from The U.  With the exception of the beast Thomas, all of their acquisitions have major talent that has been wasted the past couple of years.

It’s frightening what these guys are capable of because let’s not forget about Tom Brady who in my opinion is still the top gunslinger in the league.  I’d still pick him over Peyton Manning if I’ve got one last game to win.  Running back Lawrence Maroney is the real deal and should become a star this year if he stays healthy.

On defense, I think the Pats have a very good team, but not great yet. They haven’t had that dominance and total control since they won those three Super Bowls.  Once they get Rodney Harrison and Richard Seymour back along with getting Asante Samuel up to game speed, this team looks to take off and do what they have always done - WIN!

Brady finally has major go-to receivers and a stud at running back.  With this in place and a defense that will only get better as the season goes on, I can say that the rest of the AFC has just awakened the sleeping giant.  I see this crew hoisting the Lombardi Trophy come February!
